Domaine des Sables Verts

About the Winemaker

Domaine des Sables Verts is a rising name in Saumur-Champigny, in the heart of France’s Loire Valley. Founded in 2019 by young couple Caroline and Hervé, the estate spans 16 hectares of organically farmed vines across 33 individual plots — with an average vine age of 40 years.

Caroline and Hervé are thoughtful, detail-driven winemakers, and it shows in every bottle. Their estate includes a prized 1.8-hectare parcel in Les Poyeux — one of the region’s most legendary vineyard sites, planted in 1950 and nestled between the holdings of Thierry Germain and Antoine Sanzay.

Their work is precise, their style is classical, and their wines are gaining serious attention for good reason.

Why we work with them

We’re always looking for wines that combine pure fruit, organic farming, and a sense of place — and Sables Verts delivers on all fronts. Their village-level Saumur-Champigny is pitch-perfect: structured, savoury, and built for food. The single-vineyard cuvées, especially from Les Poyeux, show remarkable finesse and potential.

They also make a superb Saumur blanc from a 1-hectare site called Les Rouères, full of chalky energy and quiet complexity.

This is some of the most exciting new Loire Valley wine we’ve tasted in years — from producers who are clearly just getting started.
