Vignerons d’Estezargues Taparas Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2023 | Southern Rhône
$33.00
The Wine
A fun take on old-school southern Rhône field blend led by Grenache Blanc. Textural and generous as you'd expect, yet surprisingly fresh, with ripe stone fruit, white flowers and a softly savoury finish. Organically farmed, fermented with native yeasts and bottled unfined. Brilliant with roast chicken, grilled prawns or salty cheeses, great wine to have on hand for something a little different.
Blend: 47% Grenache Blanc, 37% Roussanne, 10% Viognier, 4% Clairette, 2% Bourboulenc.
The Producer
Founded in 1965, this is a co-operative like none other, with a focus on a minimal intervention and quality first approach. When Jean-Francois Nicq took over as winemaker in 1989, he changed the coarse of this operation, and challenged the normal co-operative model in France. He decided to vinify the wines of
all 10 member estates separately, giving them a unique identity.
all 10 member estates separately, giving them a unique identity.
Organic certification followed and all the wines are now made without fining or filtration, and just minimal sulphur at bottling. These are some of the best value wines in France. We have started with the cuvees Taparas blanc and rouge. In November 2025 these were joined by the very exciting new “Carambouille”,
an incredibly fun and smashable chilled red from Carignan and Cinsault. Just in time for summer.
